Getting Started with Social Media for Your Business



Do you want to use social media to market your business but you’re not sure where to start? Is your business already on social media but not very active?


In the last year we’ve seen small businesses use social media more than ever to build brand awareness, become thought leaders, and stay in front of their customers.


Here are 3 questions to ask that will help focus your efforts on social media:


1 - What is the goal of having my business on social media? There are a lot of reasons for a business to be active on social media(connect with your customers, build brand awareness, promote your product or service, etc.). Make sure you know why you’re spending your time here.


2 - Where does my ideal customer hang out? Understand where your customers are spending their time. If you’re not sure, friend them, connect with them, or join some relevant groups to see where they’re most active.


3 - How much time do I have to spend on social media? In order to build a presence you need to be consistent. Decide what that means for your business. Whether you’re going to post a couple of times a week or a couple of times a day, create a plan and stick to it.
